Drake topped the list of Spotify’s Most Streamed Artists in the world…again. For the second year in a row he’s sitting pretty at number one. This is definitely important as Streaming counts now a days towards Platinum and Gold Records. The Canadian triple threat streamed on Spotify 4.7 billion times making him the most streamed artist of all time with a whooping 8.7 billion streams. He’s the number one pop and hip-hop artist on Spotify and “One Dance” was the top song this year. There’s no surprise that “Views” is the number one album of the year on Spotify. Put it this way if there was a Spotify Award Show Drake would clean up for the second year in a row and everyone would sit in the audience laughing or cheering. Spotify’s Chief Content and Strategy Officer calls the rapper and singer “unstoppable.” He wasn’t joking when he said he was taking over all Summer ’16. At least he warned us. Drizzy sits above Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots and Kanye West. Check out more Spotify stats from this year here and listeners will even their own specialized playlist from their year in review. What were you streaming all ’16? Will Drake reign Summer 17 too?
