Delicious Italian Cuisine Made Like Mama – Review On Modo Mio Bistro
This past week Love This City Crew had the pleasure in indulging in some of the best Italian food we have had in a long time at Modo Mio Bistro. This hidden gem in the heart of the city located at Avenue and Wilson should be added to the list of places to get your grub on.
At the houses recommendation we pampered ourselves to six of their most famous dishes the have to offer. The first course was Gamberi; shrimp tails perfectly cooked, there is nothing better than a shrimp cooked to perfection, on a bed of arugula and a very light tasting mango salsa dressing. Presentation and taste was on point.
Secondly, as we were finishing the appetizer the chef personally delivered the in house handmade Agnolotti Di Zucca along with the in house handmade gnocchi in four cheese sauces. The butter sauce with sage Agnontti truly tasted as if you were sitting on the coast of Italy. Each piece of pasta was better tasting then the other, it was in our tummies in minutes. The 4 cheese sauce smothered the most fluffy, silky, light weight Gnocchi that we’ve ever tasted and it totally knocked it out of the park. If you love cheese, you’ll love this dish! This was one of the best tasting Gnocchi dishes we’ve ever had. Anything made in house at this lovely venue is worth every penny and with that said they are so extremely reasonably priced. You leave stuffed to the max because you can’t pull yourself away from the authentic and delicious food.
Lasagna and Rotini cacciatore were next on this list. The home-made sauce really put a twist on our taste buds; we wanted to lick the plate, that’s how good it tasted!! Pasta cooked perfectly Al Dante. They don’t skim on the portion size either, you’re going to leave here with your monies worth and then some.
On their top charts list is there Modo Mio pizza. Again made in house, crust is perfectly cooked and airy to eat. Fresh cut prosciutto, mushrooms, sauce and arugula the perfect mixers for the grand finale of our courses really put this dinner over are A++ radar.
You can’t leave this venue without having a bite of the Nonna inspired and home-made tiramisu. Every layer had us at hello. I think I we can say that the food here is more than just a one-time visit. Love this City has it on the top of our must go to list and you won’t be disappointed.
Modo Mio offers many different types of wine by the bottle or by the glass. They have a no corking fee and offer very affordable and cozy family dinning experience. For just one part of the day you’ll feel like you’re in Little Italy. They also offer beer and other common cocktails. The servers, staff and owner of Modo Mio treat you like family , we found, were helpful in guiding us around the menu list, being extremely pleasant to speak to and really just made the overall experience very enjoyable.
