6 Pizza Spots in The Six

Pizza may be Italian but it’s like the Instagram of foods. No matter where you come from, there’s a pizza out there for you. Sometimes we think it should be its own food group (okay maybe we’re going overboard). Toronto doesn’t have a shortage of pizza spots either because as everyone knows, all pizza is not created equally. We rounded up our top six pizza spots.

Queen Margherita Pizza

Queen Margherita Pizza

They specialize in Neapolitan Style Pizza cooked in a wood oven. Every location has a different menu so it’s always a pleasant surprise. Enjoy fresh toppings, and lots of pizza options at Queen Margherita Pizza. Their appetizer list may be small but their pizza list is endless.

Descendant Detroit Style Pizza

Descendant Detroit Style Pizza

There aren’t may Detroit Style pizzerias in town so competition is pretty scarce. They promise Detroit Style Pizza and that’s what you get! In a lane of their own Descendant delivers with their thick airy crusts, and super saucy flavors. The venue may be small but they’re big when it comes to flavors. Also don’t sleep on their beer selection as they have a larger variety.

Za Pizzeria

402 Bloor Street W | Za Pizzeria Website

Za Pizzeria

Za Pizzeria is not only fun to say but yummy to eat. They specialize in barbecued pizzas. This unique take on pizza leaves a lot of room for your imagination to run wild. One fan favorite is the Oh-Canada Pizza which includes Maple Syrup, mozzarella cheese, crispy bacon, and potato chips. Such a thing isn’t for people who lack adventure. They’re also notorious for their range of vegan pizzas.

In what might be a clear standout on this list, Pizza Pide is famous for their Turkish Style Pizzas. Their unique flair includes toppings ranging from lamb, ground beef and even fried eggs. They take an out of the box approach to Italian Pizza and most likely you’ll get a rectangular slice. Also try their Baklava while you’re there.

Pizzeria Defina

321 Roncesvalles Ave | Pizzeria Defina Website

Pizzeria Defina

The interior is retro and their pizza will make you feel cozy. Their wood fire pizza comes with many toppings but the one that is most raved about is their Wild Mushroom Pizza. It’s running wild with mushrooms and looks ridiculously delicious. Do expect quality pizza that’s made to order and will make your taste buds never want to leave. We apologize in advance if you become a regular at Pizzeria Defina.

We left out a few pizza spots because there could only be six but don’t hesitate to drop your favorite pizza spot in the comments below.  What pizza could you live on for the rest of your life?
