5 Ways to Save Money on Clothing Year Round

It’s not always easy to stay on top of the current fashion trends without putting a hole in your wallet.

  1. Wait for holiday sales

Whether you’re an avid online shopper or more of a mall goer, you should always hold off on buying clothes if it’s not on sale. You’ll find that multiple times throughout the year, many stores will have sales surrounding all holidays such as mother’s day, Canada day, Easter, etcetera. So next time you’re dying the get that new pair of shoes, pull out your calendar and see what holiday is around the corner and wait till then to buy it!

  1. Stop by vintage stores / Plato’s closet

Vintage shopping is so in right now. Luckily there are many vintage stores around and places like Plato’s closet where you can even sell your lightly worn clothing and get new stuff for cheap. Talk about a win-win!

  1. Trade with friends

While you may not have the exact same style as your friends or fit into everything they own, you may be surprised with how many items of clothing you can trade here and there in order to spice up your wardrobe!

  1. Borrow

Have a cousin with a cute top? Or maybe your mom has a nice bracelet? Don’t be scared to ask to borrow something from a close friend or family member in order to complete an outfit without spending a single dollar! The worst they can say is no.

  1. Focus on one season

In Canada it’s tough to constantly stay on trend with 4 seasons that range from -20- +30 degrees Celsius. So pick your favourite season or two and focus on picking up new versatile pieces for those seasons only and buying less for the other ones!

Test out one of these tips and you’ll be sure to save your precious mula all year round!
